These light wooden embroidery hoops hold through multiple layers of work very securely. I sometimes like to embroider though a light quilt batting, through a medium weight stabilizer or embroider after seams are sewn. These hoops hold well while also being very light.
The wood hoops are great for embroidery hoop art. They also have a plastic grip over the tightening bolt. This keeps thread from getting caught while stitching. Great extra!
Spring type hoops are great for dishtowel embroidery work. They move around so quickly.
